Updating Church Bylaws
Over the past several months, the elders have take time to work on, update, and modernize our governing documents: our bylaws, and our policies & procedures.
The cost was low financially – some paper, and a small fee for legal review. The cost was high in terms of time – lots of discussion and detail work. But the end result (in my opinion) is worth it. The changes will help our church leaders focus on the right things for years to come.
The elders would like to share those proposed changes with anyone in the congregation who is interested (I know – not everyone cares! But some of you do). Below are links to download the revised documents.
For the sake of transparency, we’d like to give you time to review and share feedback.
Then on September 13 or 20, you can choose to attend one of our “Pies and Policies” events – a meeting for us to share some of the thoughts behind our process, as well as reviewing of some of the bigger changes. Plus we’ll share dessert and prayer as we discuss!!
On October 4th, at our annual congregational meeting, church members will have the opportunity to affirm those changes through voting.
I hope you’ll take the time to join us and listen to the revisions. If nothing else, you’ll get some pie! But I think you’ll also gain a better understanding of how we want to move forward as the body of Christ in Tonganoxie!!!
