What We Believe

We believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God, as Lord and as Savior. Our book of doctrine, or list of beliefs, is simply the Word of God. Thus as one man has expressed it, “We have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, no name but the name Christian.”

the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He exists eternally in three personalities: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one God in three persons. (Genesis 1:1 & 26 -27, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

the Son of God who lived a sinless life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead demonstrating power over death.  He now rules and reigns as King of Kings in the lives of believers and is head of the church. (Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 4:14-15)

part of the triune nature of God.  He is present in the world to turn us toward Jesus Christ and resides in the life of the Christian, providing supernatural guidance. (2 Corinthians 3:17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38-40, Ephesians 1:13-14)

the divinely preserved and inspired Word of God, and the source of truth, faith, and practice for believers.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

made in the spiritual image of God and the object of God’s creation and divine love.  Sin causes separation between mankind and God, but God has provided a way of restoration through his Son, Jesus Christ.

by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  By trusting in the gospel of Christ, repenting of sins, and being baptized into the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, believers are promised eternity with the Father.

how long we were designed to exist with God.  One will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God because of Christ has accomplished.  Eternal separation is identified as hell.  Heaven is an eternal place for those who accept the gospel.

described as the body of Christ.  It is a community of believers that exists to reach those that do not know Christ and to disciple believers.  Jesus Christ will one day return for the church, which will begin eternity. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 12:27, Ephesians 4:11-14)
